About this website

The aim of this website is to encourage people to use their local community facilities, to reduce their 'carbon footprints' (go to www.carbonindependent.org) and increase sustainability.

It gives information on a number of community groups and small businesses on the Wirral that are consistent with the move to a sustainable low-energy lifestyle.

The are some big changes that will affect the Wirral over the coming years:
  • North Sea oil is running out, and the UK is now a net importer of oil
  • World oil stocks are running low and the oil price is rising
  • Climate change is likely to have a large effect on every country of the world

These changes will mean that local communities and small local businesses will become more important once again. This website aims to strengthen these in anticipation of the changes that are coming.
