And in 2011
The St Bridgets Community Centre Appeal Committee is planning a series of events next Spring and Summer. This will include a continuation of our successful First Wednesday series of lectures, a concert from the Royal Northern College of Music students, St James Singers with the Faure Requiem, our stalls at the Ashton Park May Fair and St Bridgets Summer Fair and more! Look out for our leaflets in January.
The Appeal
St Bridget's Community Centre is a well-used facility and important to the community but the extension suffers from damp and condensation and now has a limited lifespan. There is an urgent need to bring the centre up to modern standards (such as mobity-impaired access) and to provide larger facilities for the ever-expanding use of the centre. Layout and storage will be improved and the hall and centre expanded to provide more flexibility and comfort. The old traditional buildings, occupied by St Bridgets School and the Charles Dawson Brown Museum will be retained and sensitively improved and the whole redevelopment will complement the attractive setting in the West Kirby Old Village Conservation Area.

To enable this to happen we need to raise £850,000. We launched an appeal in October 2006 and so far (March 2010) we have raised over £750,000 - from the Church, parishioners and local people. This is a remarkable achievement showing that we will achieve our aim with local support and the backing of grant agencies.
We welcome donations, large or small, through gifts, standing orders, pledges or loans. Leaflets on the redevelopment are available in the Church and Museum with a donations slip. Alternatively ring Iain Corlett on 0151-648-2337 or Phil Price on 0151-625-7959 or send donations to St Bridgets Parish Office, Rectory Road, West Kirby, Wirral. CH48 7HL. We welcome your help - whether large or small.
