The West Wirral Group of the Family History Society of Cheshire meets on the second Wednesday of each month (excluding January, August and December) at Westbourne Community Centre, Westbourne Road, West Kirby, CH48 4DQ.

At each meeting there is a help desk from 1.30pm when you are invited to bring along any problems you may have with your family history research and our experienced members will endeavour to help you. The main meeting starts at 2:00pm when we have a talk followed by tea or coffee and biscuits and time for a chat. The talks cover a variety of topics including family and local history. Visitors are very welcome. Admission at the door is 1.50 for members and 2.00 for visitors (including refreshments).

Newspapers and where they can lead

NB. This is not a talk about how to locate newspapers for use in family research. The talk is about how to use newspapers to understand how our families lived, worked and played.
